Fay's secret for finding a great apartment in New York: Doing some research on your own will allow you to know the right questions to ask your agent from the beginning. Do a little bit of homework while you're looking at apartments: compare prices; ask around and find out other people's experiences with their homes and living in Manhattan; consider apartment features. Oftentimes what stops a client from taking the apartment that they love when it comes up is that they feel they haven't seen enough to be able to make a decision. By the time that they've shopped around enough to realize that a certain apartment was the right one, it's gone.
