Kathleen Brimlow, Manager of Planning and Development, affects synergy and integration between the various operations of Manhattan Apartments Inc. by working closely with each department. She directs the rental listings department, the web/programming and art/marketing teams. She developed the in-house rental database, one of the most sophisticated and extensive in the city.
Kathleen is very personable to landlords and is always ready to answer their questions about current market trends. Her warm and caring manner is not compromised by her results-oriented intensity or her ability to focus upon wherever attention is needed. Kathleen also coordinates the development of new projects within the company. She writes and/or edits all text copy for the web-sites and all marketing materials, including The NYC HomeGuide. As adviser and confidant, to Jerry Weinstein, Present and Founder, she makes significant contributions to the company’s policy and direction. After more than two decades, they are still passionate about meeting the challenges that keep the company competitive and growing.
Kathleen was a yoga instructor in the early 70s. In 1977, she was hired as the Assistant Manager, of a landmark restaurant in the West Village, and became General Manager in charge of the entire operation. She obtained a degree as a Registered Nurse in 1985 and was elevated to charge nurse in her first position. She went on to teach practicum courses at a technical school for nursing assistant’s certification. While in college, she worked as a rental agent for MAI. In 1988, she was recruited by the President of MAI, to join the company, as Financial Manager. She and a former manager later teamed up to form the rental listings department. As the company grew, Kathleen created the policies that run the company’s highly skilled listings team.
